Raise your hand if you have ever taken a double tag while admiring someone else’s earrings, only to notice that they are not rivets, but ear seeds. These almost Earrings have graced the ears of wellness enthusiasts and acupuncture acolytes lately – but what the hell is that?

In our latest section of What Wellness, Well + Goods YouTube series, where we examine the most accessible treatments in the wellness world to find out if they are worth it (sign up if you have not already done so), senior video producer Ella Dove ear seeding- the trend for itself during a visit to the Vie Healing spa in Los Angeles. Although they look like tiny gold rivets, ear seeds are actually seeds (or sometimes they are metal balls) that are strategically placed at pressure points in the ear, and they are meant to help you relax and unwind.

“We place [ear seeds] at pressure points that send signals to the brain’s reflex centers to relax the nervous system, “says Mona Dan, acupuncturist and founder of Vie Healing. Dan then applies the seeds to Dove’s ear (the spa sells gold for $ 34 per 20-pack). And then Dove tries it himself on his other ear by placing them on five key areas that Dan says they can help the body find balance in.
